    Patients with cancer are at risk of thrombotic events, mainly deep vein thrombosis and/or pulmonary embolism. The thrombosis risk is generally 4-6 times higher than in a healthy population and depends on factors related to patient characteristics, tumor factors, and treatment-related factors. The decision-making for prophylactic anticoagulation is individualized according to the relative risks and benefits. The VTE risk has been quantified using different assessment scores. In recent years, an effort has been made to establish „risk assessment models“ specifically for patients undergoing chemotherapy.

    This article reviews current data and ongoing research on predictive factors involved in cancer-related thrombosis and it is highlighted the currently suggested strategies for prophylaxis. Several trials that compared the two treatment options, direct factor Xa inhibitor or LMWH, with placebo and not each other are discussed. In this article, was analyzed the safety and efficacy features that led several international organizations such as ASCO, NCCN, and others, to issue guidelines for the prophylaxis and treatment of patients at high risk of thrombosis by using LMWH, fondaparinux and DOACs.

    Falls during pregnancy occur in 25-27% of women and can cause serious harm to both the mother and the fetus. The objective of this systematic review was to identify intrinsic and extrinsic risk factors for falls during pregnancy by reviewing original studies and addressing possible forms of prevention.

    We searched PubMed, Cochrane library, and Web of Science databases for studies assessing risk factors for falling after a fall has occurred or by using posturographic assessment.

    Fourteen studies were included in the review. The identified extrinsic risk factors include slippery floors, cluttered areas, uneven ground, inappropriate shoes, hurrying, walking on stairs, carrying additional loads, poor lighting or obstructed view, sedentary lifestyle and working in physically demanding jobs. The identified intrinsic factors include age less than 30, height more than 160 cm, advanced pregnancy, unintended pregnancy, multiparity, hyperemesis gravidarum, low back pain, gestational diabetes, increase in abdominal circumference, lower ankle stiffness and joint laxity. Physical activity, maternity support belts, and education are possible strategies for fall prevention.

    The search for biomarkers in juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is a promising and rapidly expanding field of investigation. The biomarkers identified so far may help to dissect the clinical heterogeneity of the illness, measure the level of disease activity, predict clinical remission, relapse, response to medications, course over time, complications, and forestall disease flares.

    We provide a summary of the most recent advances in the development and application of biomarkers in JIA. We performed a PubMed search for significant articles combining predetermined keywords related to biomarkers in non-systemic and systemic JIA, chronic uveitis, and macrophage activation syndrome (MAS). The biomarkers available or under study are presented and discussed separately for non-systemic and systemic subtypes and for the two main disease complications, uveitis and MAS.

    Evidence on physician patient-sharing relationships from developing countries is limited. This study aimed to identify patient-sharing networks among physicians in China and explore the effect of attributes of physician networks on healthcare utilization and costs.

    Retrospective analysis was undertaken based on healthcare claims from Urban Employee Basic Medical Insurance Data spanning the years 2015 to 2018. We identified patients with hypertension and modeled physician patient-sharing networks using social network analysis. Relationships among physicians were further quantified using network measures. We fitted a log-linear model to examine the association between networks and healthcare at the physician level.

    To analyze differences between rates of complex and routine cataract surgery based on demographics and social determinants of health (SDOH) at the community level.

    Data from adults ages 18 to 84 relevant to cataract surgery billing codes were extracted from the 2017 Florida Ambulatory Surgery dataset from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality merged with SDOH measures from the American Community Survey. A multivariable logistic regression model was used to determine associations between complex cataract surgery and SDOH according to patient ZIP code. Outcomes were reported as odds ratios (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI).

    A total of 171,754 and 11,340 patients received routine and complex cataract surgeries, respectively; females received the majority of routine surgeries (58.87%); most common age group (79.11%) was from 65 to 84years. Male (odds ratio [OR] 2.034;
