    Data on the validity of tools for sleep apnea risk detection in rotating shift workers are limited. The aim was to evaluate the Berlin questionnaire (BQ) and the Neck, Obesity, Snoring, Age, Sex (NoSAS) score for the detection of obstructive sleep apnea risk in shift workers.

    This cross-sectional study included male rotating shift workers, drivers of heavy off-road machinery in an iron ore extraction company. Polysomnography was the gold standard for evaluation. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)was defined as an apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) of ≥ 5 events/h. The Shapiro-Wilk test verified the data distribution and comparative analysis was conducted using the chi-square analyses and U Mann-Whitney with Bonferroni correction. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values, positive and negative likelihood ratios, and accuracy were used for evaluate BQ and NoSASwith OSAdiagnosis by polysomnograph.

    Among 119 male shift workers, ages 24 to 57 years, polysomnography showed that 84% had obstructive sleep apnea (AHI ≥ 5), and 46% had moderate to severe sleep apnea (AHI ≥ 15). For AHI ≥ 5, the NoSAS score had higher sensitivity and specificity than the BQ. For AHI ≥ 15 and AHI ≥ 30, the NoSAS score had a sensitivity higher than 70% while BQ was 60% and 58%, respectively. The accuracy of the NoSAS score was higher for all OSA criteria than that of BQ.

We then examined the components of extracts using gas chromatography (GC) and GC-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). A comparison of components indicated that the largest proportions of essential oils were caryophyllene (25%) in M. officinalis, geraniol (50%) in T. citriodorus, and citral (61 and 82%) in A. citriodora and P. citriodora. Moreover, we used a sensory evaluation method using dilute aqueous solutions of extract components, citral, linalool, d-limonene, and geraniol, to select the mixture with a flavor that mostly resembled lemon.     The aim of this study was to report our experience with early stage glioblastoma (e-GB) and to investigate the possible clinical and imaging features that may be helpful to the radiologist to correctly diagnose this entity.

    We performed a retrospective research of patients diagnosed with glioblastoma at two hospitals during a 10-year period. We reviewed all pre-operative MR and included only patients with early stage GB lesions, characterized by hyperintense on T2-weighted signal, with or without contrast-enhancement at post-contrast T1-weighted images, without „classic“ imaging appearance of GB (necrosis, haemorrhage, oedema). All preoperative MR were evaluated by an experienced neuroradiologist and information on patients‘ demographics, clinical presentation, follow-up, and histopathology results study were collected. When available, preoperative CT examination was also evaluated.

    We found 14 e-GBs in 13 patients (9 males, 4 females, median age 63years) among 660 patients diagnosed with GB between 2010 and 2020. In 10 lesions, serial imaging revealed the transformation of e-GB in classic glioblastoma in a median time of 3months. Clinical presentation included stroke-like symptoms, vertigo, seizures and confusion. Preoperative plain CT was performed in 8/13 cases and in 7 e-GBs presented as a hyperdense lesion. Ten out of 14 lesions transformed in classic GB before surgical intervention or biopsy. All lesions revealed typical immunohistochemical pattern of primary glioblastoma.

A study to determine the seroprevalence of SFGR infection in 300 sheep and goats in Plateau State, Nigeria was conducted from September to November, 2018 using the Indirect Fluorescence Antibody Test (IFAT). Overall, 85 out of 300 animals (28.3%) were seropositive to SFGR. Relatively higher seroprevalence was recorded in sheep than goats (28.8% vs 28.0%) but the difference was not statistically significant (p > 0.05). Furthermore, seropositivity was not affected by age, sex or location of the animals screened in this study. This is the first serological study to report the prevalence of SFGR in sheep and goats using IFAT in this study area. The presence of SFGR antibodies in domestic ruminants is of public health concern considering the close association between farmers and their animals occasioned by the management system practiced in the study area. This finding calls for further studies to evaluate the level of human exposure to this group of pathogen.To evaluate the effect of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of coronary chronic total occlusions (CTOs) on left ventricular (LV) strain assessed using cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) tissue tracking. In 150 patients with a CTO, longitudinal (LS), radial (RS) and circumferential shortening (CS) were determined using CMR tissue tracking before and 3 months after successful PCI. In patients with impaired LV strain at baseline, global LS (10.9 ± 2.4% vs 11.6 ± 2.8%; P = 0.006), CS (11.3 ± 2.9% vs 12.0 ± 3.5%; P = 0.002) and RS (15.8 ± 4.9% vs 17.4 ± 6.6%; P = 0.001) improved after revascularization of the CTO, albeit to a small, clinically irrelevant, extent. Strain improvement was inversely related to the extent of scar, even after correcting for baseline strain (B =  - 0.05; P = 0.008 for GLS, B =  - 0.06; P = 0.016 for GCS, B =  - 0.13; P = 0.017 for GRS).
